Dining Out In 2021
ServSafe Dining Commitment 2021
States considering re-opening dining institutions will need to know the restaurant industry commitment to patrons for best practices in regard to several types of services. Covid - 19 has forever changed many perspectives in the foodservice world. Risk vs reward could be a decision that may determine the future of many restaurants in our entire country. At this time no steadfast rules apply for restaurant services. However the National Restaurant Association has made the decision to release best practices commitments as suggestions for a starting place.
The foundation of the ServSafe Dining commitment is the National Restaurant Association’s Reopening Guidance and FDA Best Practices for Restaurants During the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Here is what restaurants are committed to doing when you dine out:
Food Safety

- Clean, Sanitize, and Disinfect
- More frequent cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting of all high-touch surfaces Established process for sanitizing between seatings
Employee Health

Social Distancing
- Posting signage throughout the restaurant that supports customer flow, social distancing
- creased use of technology to reduce physical person-to-person interaction
- Please help us create a safe dining experience for you
- Wait to claim your table if you are sick , have any signs of COVID-19 and/or have had known close contact with someone who has COVID-19.
- Take advantage of hand sanitizing stations and/or hand washing options.
- Enjoy intimate dining settings by social distancing 6 feet and limiting dinning parties to 6.
- Hide your smile by wearing face covering as directed by local and state government when entering and moving around the restaurant.
- Leverage online menus and reservations to help reduce contact. Technology is a great thing!
- Let us do all of the work and order delivery, takeout or curbside services.
